2 or 3 TIPS TO STORE YOUR FLAMENCO DRESS
TIPS FOR STORING YOUR FLAMENCO DRESS
From masaga (flamenco fashion), we want to give you some tips to help you store your flamenco dress and keep it looking like new.
It’s very important not to store it without washing it. For this, you need to remove all the overlaid embellishments such as fringes (we have a post where you can read about cleaning fringes), flowers, and other accessories that adorn the dress.
Be careful with scissors as they can damage the fabric.
It may be difficult for you or you may not feel like doing it, but don’t worry, at our workshop, #masaga, we will take care of removing everything that can’t be washed.
Contact us at flamencaycomplementos.com, and we will handle it for you.
Now you can wash it. Follow the washing instructions. If you’re unsure about how it will turn out after washing it at home, it’s best to seek professional help, such as a laundry service, which will guarantee that it will come out like new. Then, you can store it in the wardrobe until the next event.
If the instructions allow machine washing, great! It will be more convenient. Don’t forget to put a towel inside the machine to prevent colors from mixing. Do not use fabric softener and select a short or delicate program on the washing machine.
However, it’s recommended to wash it the old-fashioned way, in a bathtub or a large basin where you can soak it. Use a gentle laundry soap, preferably liquid. You may have to float the heavily stained areas.
Dry it in the shade and try to hang it in a way that minimizes wrinkles because ironing it is the most laborious task…
Take the opportunity to wash the removed embellishments as well.
You may want to update your flamenco dress and make some alterations next year. For that, come to #masaga, and we will provide advice because you know that flamenco fashion reinvents itself every season.

Storing Flowers and Accessories
Brush them well to remove dust. It’s better not to wet them as the flowers from flamencaycomplementos.com are hand-dyed, and they may bleed if wet.
Store them in a sturdy box to prevent crushing.
There is a variety of accessories such as earrings, hair combs, brooches, belts.
Use a soft toothbrush or a similar brush to brush the accessories, and then you can store them.
You can expand your collection of accessories at our physical store, Masaga, and the online store, flamencaycomplementos.com.
