Indeed, we are facing a summer that lacks the flamenco spirit.
Why do I say it’s not very flamenco?
Because currently, neither pilgrimages nor fairs will be celebrated in the towns of Andalusia.
The Andalusian government is urging municipalities not to hold parties or events.
This is a reality that we already understand, but it personally leaves us devastated.
We know that one of the best moments were the days of pilgrimage or fairs in our towns.
The flamenco fashion industry is deeply affected. You can’t even imagine how many people depend on fairs and pilgrimages, not only in Andalusia but also outside of it. It is a true tragedy for us not to be able to work.
There are those who manufacture dresses like us at Masaga. There are those who sell fabrics and adornments. There are those who sell all the necessary accessories to be a fantastic flamenco dancer. The hospitality industry, hairdressers, beauticians, hotels, vehicle rentals, horse and carriage rentals. Those who supply the hospitality sector, laundry services, cleaners, the companies that beautifully decorate the venues—the list goes on.
We know that this is a temporary situation and that we will soon gather again.
We have some time to protect ourselves and come back stronger. We can’t wait to offer you all our new products. It’s been tough, but we must not lose hope. We have been dealt with these times, and we must learn to adapt.
It’s better for us to be united to face this reality better. Hopefully, when we return from these long forced vacations, the virus will be more under control, and we can start setting dates for new events. Although we will likely still have to maintain some safety measures, at FlamencayComplementos.com, we are eager to keep working. We may be working at a slower pace, but we are already creating some beautiful outfits that we will show you in the next campaign. We can’t stop creating.
